Song of the Day: The Thanksgiving Song by Adam Sandler

Thanksgiving is tomorrow! Let's all celebrate by pigging out :-) This song is now how old? and yet still rather young... I think this can be called a modern classic? Happy Thanksgiving all!

WTF! "Hello Seattle" by Owl City

Okay I pride myself on how us Seattle people are all around good people. But I also pride myself on how snarky, sarcastic, and passive-aggressive we are. Owl city has a song called "Hello Seattle", that is ensconced in good nature and happy warm fuzzy feelings that it make me want to hurl a little inside. If your gonna write a song about Seattle, sing about how gray, drizzly and depressing this city is and also how we need coffee to keep us sane, that is true Seattle, oh and how friendly we are :-)

Here is the song lyrics and the actual song is below, listen to it's carefreeness if you can:

Hello Seattle, I am a mountaineer
In the hills and highlands
I fall asleep in hospital parking lots
And awake in your mouth

Hello Seattle, I am a mantaray
Deep beneath the blue waves
I'll crawl the sandy bottom of Puget Sound
And construct a summer home

Hello Seattle, I am the crescent moon
Shining down on your face
I will disguise myself as a sleeping pill
And descend inside of you

Hello Seattle, I am a cold seahorse
Feeling warm in your sand
I sing about the tide and the ocean surf
Rolling in the evening breeze

Hello Seattle, I am an albatross
On the docks and your boats
I sail above your inlets and interstates
Through the rain and open wind

Hello Seattle, I am an old lighthouse
Throwing beams of bright lights
Red in the morning, blue in the evening sun
Taking heed from everyone

Hello Seattle, I am a mountaineer
In the hills and highlands
I fall asleep in hospital parking lots

Take me above your light
Carry me through the night
Hold me secure in flight
Sing me to sleep tonight

Take me above your light
Carry me through the night
Hold me secure in flight
Sing me to sleep tonight

Spiritual Health Care

I understand the power of prayer as part of the healing process, but does it really need to be covered by our insurance? Why would someone need to pay a third party to pray? Couldn't that be done at home, at church or where ever, with those close to you or your church? Seems like a no-brainer here but...

Click-y for details.

Leaders of the Church of Christ, Scientist, are pushing a proposal that would help patients pay someone like Lewis for prayer by having insurers reimburse the $20 to $40 cost.

The provision was stripped from the bill the House passed this month, and church leaders are trying to get it inserted into the Senate version. And the church has powerful allies there, including Sens. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), who represents the state where the church is based, and Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah), who said the provision would "ensure that health-care reform law does not discriminate against any religion."

Song of the Day: Lily Allen - F*ck You

This song picks me up for some reason. :-)
