Song of the Day (90s Edition) - The Divinyls - I Touch Myself

I cannot confirm nor deny that this post is directed at anyone in particular >;-)

I love myself I want you to love me
When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself I want you to find me
I forget myself I want you to remind me

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I don't want anybody else Oh no, oh no, oh no

You're the one who makes me come running
You're the sun who makes me shine
When you're around I'm always laughing
I want to make you mine

I close my eyes And see you before me
Think I would die If you were to ignore me
A fool could see Just how much I adore you
I get down on my knees I do anything for you

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I want you I don't want anybody else
And when I think about you I touch myself
Ooh, ooh, oo, oo ahh

I don't want anybody else When I think about you
I touch myself Ooh I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

Song of the Day (80s edition): Madonna - Material Girl

I have been having a Madonna moment for a while now so I might as well post some of her stuff.

The properties for a good running mixtape

Do you listen to music while you run? If so, you may benefit from the dozens of carefully selected tracks that have been proven to increase energy levels in at least one Stranger music writer. Check out the exhausting—if not exhaustive—list of inspirational songs on Line Out.

I'm always trying to find good music that I can use when I am running. I attempted using the podrunner podcast but I noticed i need vocals, straight instruments or drum loop does nothing for me. and I also need variety and mixes, if Ilisten to the same thing over again I get bored, hence the constant shuffle in my Ipod. Well, the Stranger has a few songs that may be good for my running soul, as well as what to look for in terms of the right music for running

Song of the Day: Phoenix -1901

Seattle was abuzz Saturday when Phoenix graced our fair city at the Showbox SoDo. A friend of mine had a spare ticket and I should have gone along, but alas I did not. I didn't think much of it until I heard Phoenix on the radio, heard from a random person what a great show it was, and saw a blog entry from the Seattle Stranger in my reader... I should have went.

Especially seeing this bit from Line-Out:
Still, the excitement and energy in the crowd was immense, with most people dancing and screaming along the lyrics to almost every song.Though the floor was definitely packed tight, it seemed that at least ¾ of the people around me were trying to dance and move around, however limited in space they were.

I really need to go to concerts again.

I've already posted this but to commemorate their time here:
